Big Pete wants a woman. Extortion experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Pete Bondurant, previously seen in White Jazz, returns with a somewhat different personality. He’s still a big guy, still working for Howard Hughes, but he’s no longer small-time. He, along with FBI agents Ward Littell and Kemper Boyd, hook up with the mob, the CIA and J. Edgar Hoover to run heroin, invade the Bay of Pigs and kill JFK. It’s a good read, but I don’t seem to have much to say about it; it’s not nearly as engrossing and page-turning as White Jazz was.
